A couple more tunes.
« on: November 20, 2006, 02:51:53 PM »
I posted a couple more tunes on my band's Myspace page.
One is a cover of Kansas' Carry On My Wayward Son, the other is a cover of Steely Dan's Josie (yeah I know, we really cater to the dancers in the crowd).  These were recorded off the board at a recent gig.  Since we don't have much bass in the PA (don't need to!) it was a little light in the mix.  I doubled the bass by plugging directly into the mixing board, so it's only partially a "listen to my Eden rig" post, but hey, who else am I supposed to share this stuff with?
We're a three piece band, the keyboard parts are sequenced.

Who gets the keyboard players share of the money when you split it up at the end of the night?

Sounds pretty good!

Hey, I checked out the Steely cover (Steely Dan is one of my fav's).  That's some tasty playing!!  Your bass tone is great!  What's the bass??

You guys play very comfortably alongside that sequencer.  Very relaxed...very well done!  Are all of you hearing the click, or is it just the drummer?  Whatever you are doing it's working!!!  Just curious...

Thanks guys.

We mention the keyboard player when we do introductions, but you must be present to get paid!  The previous bass player did all the sequencing.  I've been working on sequencing my first song this week.  It's proving to be a bit more work then I anticipated, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

The drummer's the only one hearing the click track.  He's got in ear monitors and I think he keeps the click in one ear by itself.  He's also singing the Steely Dan song by the way.  He's a busy guy!

Once you get that sequencing down you'll be all set.  Nothing to it once you get over the hurdle that you are now starting to jump over.  After that you'll be able to bust those sequenced tracks out with ease.

Listened to 'Rosanna' on your site...nice feel!!!!  The drummer ROCKS (that's an impressive feel to play comfortably like that [as a drummer])...and your thumb is all over it during the popping sections!!  Amazing playing!!!  Very much in the pocket...nice and laid back all the way through.  I'm impressed!!!!!
