Brian Doerksen eh?  How long have you been playing with him?  A friend of mine wrote a song on his latest cd (Everlasting - Matt Unruh).

I played with Tim Hughs when he came out to my neck of the woods last year.

What gear are you using?

Hey there, I've been playing for Brian for a couple of years now.I toured with Matt last Nov. when we did a cross Canada trip with Brian, and I also did Brian's latest CD/DVD "Today". I got to play with Tim Hughes once as well, it was one of those "Hi Tim, I guess we're doing a set in 5min.... ya wanna just yell what key we're in before we start?" kind of gigs at YC in Kamloops BC. [:D]
As for gear, I've just settled on the 210XST. I'm using an Avalon U5 as a pre amp and a Crown XLS402 for power. I'm hoping to get another 210XST in the new year for the loud gigs but I just did a week with David Ruis and Rita Springer and the stage volume was nuts but the single XST did great, nice and punchy and full.
How about your set-up?and what part of the North are you in?

cheers.

Hey Psychicpet,
Probably shouldn't talk about this on the Eden list, but that Avalon U5 sounds interesting. Do you have some EQ elsewhere in your rig or do you find the U5 presets do the job?

Hi Guys,
Johans, yes the XST does most situations, the bigger venues(like with Brian) are all in-ear monitor stuff so i don't even have an amp on stage. Faithful Father, we did a recent version of Faithful Father/Your Faithfulness on Brian's latest CD/DVD "Today" and yep, that one is me, great songs btw.
Warwick, onto the Avalon, no other eq'ing just the Tone presets in the Avalon.I've been favouring the #2 preset with the hi-cut on as well.Amazing piece of gear. Not exactly tweakable but the tone I get out of it is nuts and my main bass is a Musicman Bongo5 with an 18volt 4 band pre and that satisfies my twiddling jones for now [;)]

for more ramblings check out my site, it's very much a work in progress but...

[^] Yep, it really is Davyduck , it's Ukranian and was originally spelled Dawyduik but when my dad was a young lad moving from Central Canada out West he used 'Davyduck' like his eldest brother did when he was in the Airforce...so ya, makes for a good stage name too I guess! [:p]
