Union Gigs
« on: December 10, 2004, 02:03:46 AM »
In 1970 I was a member of Indianapolis Musicians Union #3 and later in ‘77 a member of the Reno’s Musicians Union.  Indianapolis kept me employed and even got me a great job in Detroit.  Reno  did little to nothing for me.

I haven’t been a member in many years but now that I’m back to a full time gigging lifestyle, I’m curious to hear what everyone thinks of the union today and if members are getting their monies worth from their dues from their various locations. Please share your experiences and thoughts. How many of you who travel still have to pay local dues? We haven’t been hit up by a union rep in years for all of the theaters, clubs and festivals we’ve done.

Cheers,
Toby Gray
