D410T, Useable for reggae?
« on: May 29, 2019, 06:38:14 AM »
Hi everybody,  I haven't been here in a long time, but I've recently acquired a D410T, and am curious how well it's handled fresh under 100 Hz in any of your all's experience?
I dig this cab, super punchy and nice articulate sound.  I like it with my Epi Thunderbird a lot.
I'd be using another cab along with, a 210 DIY job with Eminence BP102 10s.  That one gets pointed at the drummer, he likes a big pushy hit of lows coming at him...

And yep, we have full pa...

Thanks for your chime-ins!

In conjunction with full pa the D410T is all you will ever need.
The reproduction of frequencies under 100 Hz are not super important on stage since you are usually not far away from the cab and the sound guys also don’t like it.
Anyway, the cab reproduce low Bs very nice.
Rock on!

Thanks, I'm kinda hoping it does over well with bandmates, their idea of stage sound is not the same as ours!...
Anyway they'll deal.  I'm the bassie... thanks man!

So I was playing my Trace Elliot AH250SMX head into the cab tonight, and noticed that the Epi Thunderbird, Hamer w/Ric pup's and guts, and Fender MIJ were all very brash sounding... lots of highs and mids, not super-forward lows at all.
I had pre shape 1 on, and the graphic eq with low mids above zero, some scoop applied, and higher mids de-accentuated.  Still pretty gnarly for upper-mids and string-zingy highs.
Is this a familiar thing for anyone?

How have you got the tweeter set?  Turned up?

Don't turn it all the way off - no less than about 9:00 because you can burn out the L pad in the crossover.

Tweeter was all the way down... it's back up to 9 o'clock now.
I removed two speakers that need new dust caps, to find they are creased near the surrounds.  I'm looking into getting them reconed.  The other two speakers are newer, I'm leaving them alone- the are original model replacements.

Ok I had 2 creased speakers, seems the previous owner was a tad rambunctious.  They're not blown though,  so my speaker guy is going to spread some Epoxy on the backside of the cones where the creases are.  Cheap fix!
