TN410 vs. D410 XLT
« on: February 06, 2019, 12:28:16 PM »
Anyone done a side-by-side comparison of these two cabs? I love my XLT, but at close to 100 pounds I think this thing is trying to kill me.

The TN cab shaves nearly 30 pounds off that -- might make load-in and load-out much easier.

I love my D series cabs.  They are paid for.

I'm not ready to pay more for cabs that may not match my D cabs performance and tone to save 30 lbs.

"If" I have to move my cabs (410XST & 410XLT) I use a dolly.  ;)

PS: they are also considerably lower sensitivity than the D cabs, so will require quite a bit more power to reach the same volume level.

I get it, man -- wheels are my favorite invention. But I still have to lift my cabs into and out of the car, and up onto the stage.

Not ready to pull the handle on a new cab either, but was curious if anyone had A/B'd these two cabs.

The only Eden cab I've seen lately, except mine, is an old, and rather ratty, well-worn looking 410XLT at a local music store.

Don't know anywhere that one could check out a TN410.

Giving this a bump with a part 2 question. Anyone know if the drivers in the TN410 are neos?

Just curious how they got all the weight out of a 4x10 -- it weighs roughly 25 percent less than a D410XLT.

I doubt that the drivers in the TN410 are neo.  They were used in just a few cabs for a short period of time.  The cost of the neo drivers soon put an end to that option.

Probably cab materials used in their construction.

The porting is different. The D series XLR have ports at the to and bottom which make it  taller and heavier as more wood is used. If I’m not mistaken, the TNs have a single port in the middle of the cab.h

Nope, the E series has the port in the middle.

As T-man said, they are not Neos.

D series woofers have bigger magnets. (D series 1000W compared to TN series 600W cabs)
D series got aluminum cast horns, TN series got plastic horns.
D series are simply bigger. Not much but it adds all up.

Rock on!

Yeah, no kidding. A load-in and load-out with my D410XLT last week is making me rethink my life choices. With my X210XLT and my WT550, I was hauling more than 200 pounds of gear for an outdoor show. Oy.

Thanks for all the answers. Moving toward ordering a TN410 to add to gear. Wish I could try one first, or someone here had experience with them. But sometimes you just have to take a leap.
