I think people buy the XST more because of the higher power rating.
Not everyone is aware of the sound factor as we are.

I love the combination of the XLT and XST. I’d Hate to see the XLT go the way of the dodo.

Hey Jim,

You can make your XST's sound a LOT like your XLT's if you dial in about 3 to 4 clicks of boost at ~250Hz.  That will give you that low-mid hump that the XLT's have built in.  And yeah, I think Armin hit it on the head that they opt for the higher power handling without knowing or considering the sonic differences.

Dan
Dan my friend my opinion is not the same for me  ... similar maybe .. the  sound of the xlt is unique !! (the users of the edens from the past knows) the xlt cabs realy shine thru the band  !!
the design of the cab, the tone of the speaker is different than  the xst philosophy
i have try many times to simulate my xst to sound like xlt is not the same for me ....
i understand what you mean  ... that xst is flexible to simulate the xlt , ok,  but i don't like it

OK TOM, I will be happy to amend my comments to "sounds similar to an XLT".  You certainly have more experience with XLT's than I do.

I'd agree with Tom,

The 410 XLT simply cuts through on its own.

It has a built in tone that can be emulated with some tweaking on the XST, but not replicated.
