Just purchased the WTP preamp and a QSC PLX-3102 to power my non Eden 4x10 and 2x10 cabs. All I can say is Holy Crap the sound is so pure and way louder too. This was a long overdue upgrade from my old Carvin BX1500 head... it started puking out after 7 years of use.

I use older WP100 and WTX1000N preamps with my QSC power amp.  All the combinations work great!

I'm sure that your combo with the new Eden Pre will be amazing too.

Hi Rae,
I got them all three. WP100, WTX1000 and the WTPPre.
While all of them have a great sound I am so much happier with the versatility and new features of the WTP.
Give it a try ;)

Thanks all,

I was able to use the amp for a jam session last night. It's almost too much for the basement! Never had a drummer ask me to turn down, LOL!

I am glad to hear someone else (TobiasMan) has a similar set up with a QSC power amp.

One issue I am having is a bit of hiss - unless I have the mute engaged. I have two standard 1/4" unbalanced patch cables coming out of the pre into the 1/4" inputs of the amp. I was thinking about getting balanced 1/4" to male XLR to replace. Hoping that will correct the issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The 1/4-inch inputs on the QSC amp accept balanced TRS cables, if that helps.  Bob

I would Armin, but "really" difficult to find an Eden dealer up here!  Getting product is very difficult.  I recently saw a used 550 and a 410XLT at a local music shop, but they don't bring product in.  Secondly, Long and McWade have basically purchased all of the local shops, then shut them down or convert them to an L&M store.  They don't carry any Eden either.  Can't order from Coast Music as they are the distributor, not a dealer.  Kinda stymied.  ???

If your rig is new, there shouldn't be an issue with dirty contacts in the 1/4" I/Os, but you might try a thorough cleaning of all of them with something like DeOxit (and add that cleaning as part of your annual maintenance routine).

Do you have the tweeter on the cab turned up higher than about 9:00?  I have found a bit of high noise if the tweeter gets turned up much beyond that.  BTW, don't turn it all the way off, you can fry the tweeter if you do.

Hi Rae,

Since Coast Music is the distributor, check with them to see where the nearest dealer is and then call the dealer to see if they have one in stock.  Although Coast Music can't sell it directly to you, they will be able to tell you what shops they sell Eden gear to.

Thanks Dan,

That would be the next step, but I'm not hopeful.  A variety of google searches for Eden Dealers in Canada came up entirely empty.  :(
