Sire Marcus Miller basses
« on: February 13, 2018, 10:52:47 AM »
I remember last year someone, maybe Armin, talked about the Sire MM basses. So I'd like to hear from someone who owns one, how they like it, especially compared to a Fender Mexican made bass.
How is the fret work? Height and edges?
Are there any dead notes like on some Fenders?
Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,
yes I got one.
Couldn’t find any dead spots and don’t know why I should spent the extra money.
Scott on YouTube did a blind comparison between the Sire and the Fender and had his followers vote which one was Fender. It was a draw. Even the Fender did cost 3000$ extra.

Thanks for the response Armin.
I've been looking at the Sire P7, a PJ model. They look really nice, with the block inlays and the preamp and mid controls. A pretty good bass for $500 to $600.
There may be one of these in my herd in the future.  :)
