I am officially RETIRED !!
« on: January 21, 2018, 12:48:20 PM »
As of Dec 30 last year I am retired from my grueling day job at the paint store, lifting heavy objects all day and working like a 20 year old. I've had three weeks off now and my body already feels better. My attitude is much better too.

I will have to get something part time pretty soon, but meanwhile I am working in two bands and looking forward to playing a lot more this year. Lack of band jobs has made Jimmy a dull boy.  ;)

See ya around!

Good to hear Jim!  I retired January 2015 and for some reason never seem to have as much time on my hands as I think I should.  I do wake up later every day though!

Yessir, it looks like I will be pretty busy too. One of the best things is that I have turned off my alarm clock. I don't mind being busy, but it's always better when it's on your own time.

Congrats and enjoy. By my calculations, I've got about four years to go before I can pull the handle.

Pulled the plug after 36 years back in 2010.

Seems like even less time to get all the stuff done now. ;D

I used to get up at 5 and now it's 6 o'clock. That feels like sleeping in.

Play some music, and start a small store or give classes or so...
Remaining active in the community is important for the community, and can give you some pocket change.

Yes to all of those things.
I have been enjoying having this time off since Dec 30th, and catching up on 'old man activities' like working on the property, clearing small trees and brush, getting ready for spring. It's so much nicer to do these things when I don't have to work full time.
Just for fun, I've chased a little white ball around a field a few times, and I'm just now getting over my first winter cold in years too.
I've been playing some music this year and hope to get something steady going. I'm gonna go back to work part time doing something that doesn't require too much physical labor. Hopefully it will be band jobs.
Cheers!
Jim
