New Laland DJ-5 and WT-405
« on: March 19, 2017, 09:30:38 PM »
I found myself needing a better 5 string for the new band, so I did some trading and got this beauty, a new Lakland Darryl Jones DJ-5.
Thanks to Roger for his encouragement. This bass sounds and feels great!

And I ran across this WT-405 in the Eden Classifieds. Forum member firebass had it for sale, so I bought it. Thank you firebass! What a great amp it is!!

And for good measure the whole group at today's practice. It was a happy week for me.  ;D

Hi Jim,
nice bass and setup.
I love my Laklands too. I mostly play them nowadays.
Rock on!

Thanks Armin, I felt lucky to find the Lakland. I haven't seen one around here before. They're great players!
I was lucky to get the amp too. What a great find.
The GAS has been relieved, temporarily.  ;D

I bought my first Lakland 3 years ago.
I was invited to their anniversary in Chicago and ended up with a 4402.
A year later I went to Bass Central in Florida while visiting a friend of mine.
The 5502 was the newest member of my little bass family of 12.
Even with the big variety of basses the Laklands are the ones played most.
I can cover all styles we play with those two.
Also the Laklands Owner Group is a nice forum to hang out.

My stable is now down to two basses.
When I have more than that it seems that some of them never get played much. With these two I can cover anything and they will both get playing time.
Think I'll check out the Lakland forum.
