I mounted the octaver in a U out of 3 mm aluminum.
I used the 1/4" jacks to hold the PCB and the plug for the power supply keeps it from swiveling.
The amp is the newest creation of David.

Whoa! I must've been hiding under a rock or something and missed this thread!  :o

Nice work there Armin!

As I'm using multiple effects, I couldn't chose just one to throw into the rack if it were me.
But I do like the idea of having all the little auxiliary necessities rolled into a 1U rack.
For me, other than maybe incorporating a compressor (if I needed it), I really like the idea of having the Wireless receiver, Tuner and (I really, really like this next one) the Bluetooth receiver all in one rack is just brilliant.

I reckon you've got a great little business idea here mate and if you were to leave the effects out of it, then you would have a unit that could be used almost universally by various types of musicians, not just Bass-players. Guitards, vocalists, music tutors and PA guys might also want to have something like this.
Very cool mate!  ;D

I have a question regarding the 3 X Power outlets at the back mate.
Is this so say for example during a gig, I don't want to have my Bluetooth active (so some joker can't link his fancy smart phone to my BT and starts blaring Hanna Montana whilst I'm playing), I leave that unplugged?
So I can run my Wireless and Octaver by having them powered up, but the BT will effectively be dead unless I run a kettle cord out of outlet 3?

The power outlets are for my other gear in the rack (amp, tuner, etc). I can switch the complete rack on with one switch.
BT will only connect with set up devices. You have to teach them first. You push the blue knob and the the device (phone, ipad etc.) can find my BT adapter and can connect. Once you have connected a device it can automatically connect next time.

Will your unit sequence the shutdown/startup of the gear, like a Furman Power Sequencer, or do you intend to shut the power amp off separately?

I have a sequence. All on and all off :-)
There is no reason for that. The class D amp I am using and others limit the current during start up not like a Non class D amplifier.
But it would be easy to do. Next device will have a text display and micro crontroler.

I know it would look super cool but you'll have to have some functions of some sort to justify it being there.  Or not....

Just eye candy with no function whatsoever.  Ok.

Dog gone it!  There you go trying to confuse me with the facts... :o :o :o

I presume the digital read-out will tell you what the micro-controller is doing but...only Armin knows what his plans are for the micro-controller at this point.  8)
