Rob the main effect for the bass players !!!! is the  bass wah or one  bass envelope filter !!!!!! just listen ...

There is even a bass with a build in wah fx.
I think it was the signature model of T.M. Stevens.

If you really want to get into it then have
a look for a Boss GT6 B or GT10 B. There you got them all and more.
They are for a while on the market and used ones should be available. After having your introduction to the FX world you can decide what you need.
That's what I did.
From time to time I still use the Big Boss. But most of the time I bring just the octaver and seldom a chorus.

The Moog is really something.
I am a big fan of their analog products.
I even got a Moog "Werkstatt" to learn more about it :D
