Indeed it is a Kala Cali 5 solid body.  The B is great!!  If you're picky, you can find minor cosmetic flaws with its construction but most people wouldn't notice.  It plays great and sounds super cool.  I have a recording of it somewhere....

I had just got this when I recorded it and the playing is a little slopy.  It didn't take long to get used to it though.

Thanks for posting that.  I was just looking at the Kala5 on the Golihur Bass site and wondered what it sounded like.  Does sound like most of the tone comes from the strings without much body wood tone.  Would be an interesting alternative.  Does it us a piezo pickup, since the strings are rubber?

Yes, they have piezo.
The acoustic version sounds even more upright like.
