Interesting video.

With all my experimenting, I've never managed to make my EUB sound like that through any of my Eden gear.  ???

Sounds like they must be "light" strings.  Can't see much about how the amp is set up.

I've got NS Traditional Medium weight strings on mine.  Looking for a more "upright" sound here.

Interesting - he seems to advocate pushing the 'enhance' knob way beyond any setting anyone on the forum would use in a live setting with a band - I suppose if you are looking for a solo 'hi-fi' sound at perhaps lower volumes that would work - just as it works at home.  In addition they certainly look like light strings on the EUB, pleasant sound but not 'double-bass enough' for me.

Anyone else notice the irony in a very well produced video, and they interviewed the guy with the built in mic on the camera? Sounds like he's talking out of a toilet bowl!

That isn't a full upright bass. Not sure of brand, but my son that's in the Marine Corps band plays one of these. Kind of like a better version of the old Ampeg Baby Bass.

Its a Ned Steinberger NXT4 upright bass. I have the five string version of that bass.

I'm still looking for a more "upright" kind of tone to it.  The Traditional strings I have on it now tamed some of the bass guitar, "zinginess" that the original strings produced, but I'm still looking for something better.

Gollihur music has some new strings that I'm interested in, as they appear to produce a bit more of that double bass growl.

Hmmm....although the low strings didn't sound too bad, the D and G strings sounded heavily distorted to me and not at all like an upright.  Also they had virtually no attack to them.  Sounded a bit like a very heavily compressed signal, something I would almost expect to get out of a synth like my old DX7s.  When he turned up the Enhance, the lows became clearer, but I really didn't care for the sound and I really love the sound i get from my Eden.  Anyone else hear that?

I am using a pair of Bose A2 headphones, so it's not cheap headphones...

Holy Crap!!   I just Googled that and listened to a You Tube video.  Now THAT sounds like a stand-up bass.   It sounds just like a really good acoustic upright bass!   How can they do that in such a tiny instrument???  :o :o :o

Maybe it is the really thick rĂ¼ber strings used on the U.
I bought one, because it really sounds good and it is so small.
