So Eden is releasing a new product?
« on: September 07, 2014, 09:08:16 AM »
I just saw an advertisement on FB. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about any upcoming products to be released?

I hope it's not another pedal.  The biggest holes in the product line are a higher powered micro head and some lightweight D-series cabinets.

... My guess is a bass overdrive pedal.  Not because it makes sense but rather because it doesn't make sense like bringing another chorus pedal to the bass market.

I don't know who's at the helm of Eden now but they should observe and listen to the market demands an produce products BASS PLAYERS are looking for...

Who asked for another bass chorus anyway?  Whoever spent their time developing that could have making a real useful product that targets a wider range of bass players.   Ahem!  Perhaps a 900 watt micro with a WT400 preamp!!!

+1.  And put the preamp tube in the gain circuit like players expect so we can overdrive it.  :P

It does look like a new pedal based off the sliver of picture they put on their FB. I wouldn't mind an overdrive pedal, but I'd much rather have a Class D micro-amp like a WTX900 or something.  ;D ;D

I just chose a number at random, I'd love to have a 1500-1600 watt Class D amp.  :D

On Facebook they suggested that we already had a WTX1000 in the guise of a WT1000N?  Eh?
I also find it very difficult to find any support for legacy products (like a WT1000N!) on the website - have we lost links to legacy products, manuals etc?

Are you referring to the old WT1000, or the not quite so old, WTX1000N?

The WTX1000N Navigator contains two, 500 watt (WTX style) amps and cannot run in Bridge Mode.

The way those amps operate in real life, you've got two, 350 watt amps, beyond that they sound a bit nasty (no headroom).

The WT1000 amp manual said it produced 450 watts into a 4 ohm load, and 280 into an 8 ohm load.

Neither of them were 1000 watt powerhouses. ::)

I'm glad to see people are pushing back on the Facebook page.

A few months ago I watched a fascinating "lost" interview with Steve Jobs from 1995 after he was forced out at Apple by John Sculley.  His opinion was that Apple was on a glide path, losing altitude as it coasted along on the basis of older products with marketing tweaks but no innovation.  Sound familiar?  It's a shame to see a good brand languish on a glide path and ultimately crash from lack of attention and capital.  There is no shortage of the products we've been asking for in the marketplace so what's a customer who wants a kilowatt class micro amp and lightweight top-of-the-line cabinets supposed to do?  Our signature line gear lists tell the story: I used to own a Metro, 212XLT, 115XLT, 2x112XLTs, WTX260 and WT405, not all at the same time but almost.  I'm now down to a WTX260 and looking for a replacement with more power.

Wrong, WT1000 puts out 1000W @ 4 ohm bridged and I am very happy with it :D

I am finding it increasingly difficult to get information from Eden's site on older products, they have either hidden it or removed it.  The person who replied on the Eden FB page referred to a WT1000N - clearly what he meant was a WTX1000N, but no references to that were found by me and it certainly didn't last long in the Eden range, but TWO WTX500's are NOT what we want - the increase in weight alone must defeat the object (as I can't find any details at all I can't say what the weight is), the object is 1,000 watts out of a single WTX, I assume that is a practical possibility, although I don't know enough about electronics to be certain - interestingly it seems that GK's MB500 puts out 500 watts and weighs only 1.36 kilos!

A legacy section of the site is planned for the future but you can currently get legacy manuals here: www.edenamps.com/support/manuals-legacy.php
