Faster access to replacement parts
« on: July 30, 2014, 07:28:38 PM »
I sold off my D410XLT. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of packing up such a beast of a cab so i brought it directly to a UPS store and had them pack and ship it. So they did, and still managed to bust a speaker.

That said, with claim approved, I contacted Eden to get a replacement. I was contacted less than 24 hours later with a part number and a website for ordering. Since Eden wouldn't sell me the speaker directly, I am going through a reseller in Arizona.

They said special orders take 4-6 weeks to receive to their store, and then they'll call me to arrange where to ship the speaker from there once they receive it.

Maybe my expectations are off, but 4-6 weeks? I can understand if this was the 70's, before computers and internet, and maybe things had to be done by phone/mail, but come on! Anyways, I guess that's my gripe. I want faster access to replacement parts. Boo.

Don't ask about my replacement speakers to convert my 410XLT from 4 ohms to 8 ohms back about 10 or 12 years ago.  That wasn't Eden so much as the Canadian distributor.  Took about 5 months in total.

Yeah, that's a tad bit absurd. I've ordered many things off the internets many times... this is by far the longest ETA for a part I've ever dealt with. I just wish I had either an "in" at Eden or some effective way of expediting. I can't help but think what people do if they are without a bass cabinet for 4-6 weeks, let alone 5 months with gigs lining up that need to be played...

I wasn't out of playing for 5 months.

Glad I still had my 215 and XST

I was really anxious to hear the two 410s running through my WP100/QSC in Dual Mono and in Bridge Mode.  ;D

Sorry for the confusion, I was thinking of the hypothetical waiting 5 months if that was one's only cabinet...

Then he could have still used the 4 ohm cab.
Anyway, it is a long time to wait.
