Nemesis NC212/NC320 Issue
« on: March 05, 2013, 07:10:54 PM »
I own a Nemesis NC212/NC320 combo amp and has served me well for the last 4 years. It has developed an irritating high frequency whine. It is attenuated when adjusting the 3 band EQ and Tone control so that when there is a high cut it is reduced but still there. I thought - fuse. Checked and fuse OK. I thought blown tweeter. Checked and tweeter OK. Took to registered repairer, there where 3  NC212/NC320 combo amps with the same problem. Either Mosfets issue or capacitor issue. Matched low profile Mosfets unavailble from supplier. Repairer still has 3 combos sitting in his shop with no options as they are a discontinued line.  Is this a know issue with this series? Is there a circuit diagram available?  :-\

Hi Phillip and welcome to the Garden,
I would start by cleaning all jacks (used and unused ones) and see if you get any improvement.
Also cleaning of the pots can improve things.
It is not a known issue as far as I know from this forum.
