WTX500 + EX112
« on: February 27, 2012, 06:39:20 PM »
I apologize in advance for my English but I have a question.

I want to buy an amplifier and WTX500 + two boxes EX112, but I do not know whether 4 or 8 ohms. I would like to have performance of 600 watts.

Can you please advise?

The WTX500 will only run a 4 ohm load so stick with two 8 ohm cabs.
Grant( gruntollio basswall ) runs this combination sometimes and speaks very highly of it.
I'm not sure if there is a 4 ohm version of the EX112,but i'm sure someone on here will chime in and let you know.
If there is you will only be able to run just one EX112.
You won't pull 600 watts from the WTX500, it only pushes 500 watts at 4 ohms.
Hope this helps,good luck[:D]

Hi and welcome to the Garden.
There is a 4 and an 8 Ohm version of the EX112.
But as Robert already said, the WTX is only capable of handling 4 Ohm minimum load.
So you have to go for the 8 Ohm cabs and that will result in an power output of 500W.

Or Look for a second hand WT405 which handles down to two ohms and will enable you to use two EX112s, I have the earlier WT330 with two 4ohm EX112s and the combination is awesome.  Remember also that going from 300 watts to 600 watts will make you no more than (about) 10% louder.  What really makes a difference is the sensitivity of the cabinet and the surface area of air that you are pushing.  I do lot's of smaller gigs with just the one EX112 and that still sounds great.

One more question. Have "EDEN EX1128 EX-SERIES" neodym speaker? I can not find it anywhere.
