Warwick Star Bass...
« on: September 07, 2011, 12:54:24 PM »
I've fallen in love with this beauty, the Warwick Star bass. I played a gorgeous black one at a shop nearby and got an offer nearly impossible to resist. It is the Korean made Pro series though, not the veeeery expensive German made Star II.

Still, a VERY good instrument with some awesome sounding BIG and noiseless single coil pickups and passive electronics. You have the classic Les Paul controls configuration, with a toggle switch pickup selector. It sounds good with more than useful tone in all three positions.

How it feels? Like a dream! I like the gold one, but if I get the black one at a good deal, well, maybe it is for me...

As I said: Maybe, just maybe...

The black one looks better
It is a half resonance, like the old Framus Star.
And the best there ever was, at least the german Star II.
But I don't know if there is a big difference. I played only the Star II. Very nice handcrafted and the bubinga wood is a dream in sound and look.
