Thanks for the comments.  Andre, coming out of my solo was a little awkward.  First of all, we were pressed for time so when Lane motioned for me to solo I instantly decided to be short, sweet, and to the point.  When I got out of it, for some reason I landed on that drum groove.  Rick yelled something to me and I said I said "WHAT???" and he said "keep playing".  He had an idea brewing that he couldn't convey to me quickly, as I didn't know how to read him (we talked after the show about what he was thinking...
Then Lane steps up and jumps right into the pocket.  When he motioned for me to stop the first time I thought he wanted me to STOP so he could do a little something on his own w/o any drums, so I fudged the first down beat when I realized that he wanted me to come in.  Then after the second time through I locked in and just laid down a foundation for him to play around with.

Was definitely cool.  I do have more video footage but will be a week or better before more gets pushed to YouTube.  I leave for a cruise on Wednesday and will be gone for a week.  When I get back I'll get some more stuff up.

Robin said that we barely got a half hour of play in because of the whole "noise police" issue (actually, she took some footage of us getting set up where Rick tells me to play something so that he can get a stage level, and you can hear the cop and the sound tech talking behind her).

Crazy kids and their loud music...!!

New clip here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkNA06hwoQ4

This was our original Woodstock tribute...from this video we went into "Voodo Child (Slight Return)" and ended before the cops came again.

I almost spit beer out of my nose and onto my computer screen when I listened to my double kicks start going at the end.  Listen to how long it takes the sound guy to realize he needs to turn my kick signal down!!!  I go through some measures of 16th notes and he's not getting it, and it takes almost all of my 16th note triplets for him to put on his Superman cape and save the day.  I bet the person who called the cops when Deeper Blues played got HIGHLY pi$$ed off when this portion of the show was happening.  [:D]

EDIT:  Oh, a note on the "masked man" on guitar  I have to give some props to him.  When he/I were chatting before we went on he said that it had been a LONG time since he played covers.  Of course he has heard the songs and know how the chord progressions go, but when it came to lyrics he just didn't have it together.  You'll notice that when we kick into "Purple Haze" he walks back toward his cabs.  I looked over expecting to see him take a drink of his water or power-aid that he had on his cabs.  But instead he was flipping through lyric sheets so he could quickly study the words and get through the song to where he could stretch out.

Lane, it was a pleasure.  I took a lot for granted while we were playing this set...I was constantly being conscious of what I was playing so that I didn't clutter anything up, but still be "colorful"...all while not knowing what was going to happen next.  I am soooooooooo thankful that you contacted me to do this.  I enjoyed every SECOND of it, even when we were yanking "Foodstock" signs out of the ground after everyone was gone and the sun was down...[:)]

DANG IT!!  Have you tried it again?  When I first uploaded it I was still logged into YouTube and in "Edit" mode, apparently...(this stuff is too complicated sometimes)

So perhaps I wasn't completely out of it when you tried the link??  I just clicked it above and it worked for me...It's a big file or I'd e-mail it to you.

I just tried it again no problems this time Danny.
Yep it did take the sound guy a while to get that kick drum under control.
But I kinda liked it, cheers.

Cool deal! [:D] I get home from my business trip only to find two videos. NICE.

Y'all can already hear just how good dB is. Man, for him to come in with NO rehearsal, having to play with two guys that just threw it at the wall to see if it would stick. Man, he was the GLUE!

Danny, we WILL do more together. And as soon as I can get something booked!

Hey, I walked into this with a game plan.  At a moment's notice I can play a zillion notes a second, but I assumed that it was going to be a shred fest, so the best approach for me is to keep it tight, energetic, and allow the guitarist to stretch out.

If I would have played much more than I did it never would have been as effective.

Lane, you are on the list of the best bass players that I've played with.  Funny, I look at you and think "dang, it would be great to have a super band with this guy" and you look at me and say "dang, I want to take all his drums away and play blues".

Lol...just kidding.  Music is music.  I love it.  If this set was in a rehearsal space with NO crowd I would have reacted the same way.  It's obvious that there's a lot of experience on that stage between the 3 of us, that's the only way you can pull of slick performances with no rehearsals.  Someone I know saw these clips and thought we had been playing together for years.  Instead I told them that it was our first time playing together as a group, and probably the ONLY time we'll play together.  But at least we had that one time...

Thanks very much for the kind words, Danny, and the same goes back to you. As I just wrote in the other thread, I'll be happy to play pretty much anything style with you, cuz I know we can make anything groove together. And, number of drums be damned... that Bonham kit thing you mentioned that night... heheheh... that would be FUN for Deeper Blues, I think. [:D]

And I really think we should talk about booking some stuff out your way.

Here's the last post for this event (which is the first of the "trilogy", I went in reverse order):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKlxFzU-4ZQ

This actually our second song.  I won't post any from our first one (Goin Down)...it was awkward.  Neither one of us knew what to expect.  It was decent, and there were some cool moments.  But we really didn't realize (I think I am spelling that word wrong????) our entire potential until the end of the song.  Then when the axeman cracked the whip with this song we all fell into place.

(Lane, let me know if you want ALL the footage...I'll send it to you.  You deserve to see it all, if you choose to)

EDIT:  Lane, now that I think about it you had cameras rolling...you have MUCH steadier footage, now that I'm thinking about it!!!!

Danny, I'm with you... Goin' Down didn't reach it's potential until toward the end. To me, that one was just a warm-up as we got to know each other, if you know what I mean.

As for video, once I get mine transferred, I'll send it all to you on disc.

So, when's our next gig? [:D]

Yep, that's how it felt to me when we played it AND when I watched it.  There are some cool moments, but all in all I didn't feel it was worthy of posting.

My shedule is solid through December, with all the stuff I have going on (including my band "Groove Crew"...which I love laying down the stanky bass, too!).  I had another gig booked the night of the Foodstock event, but luckily it got cancelled (was cancelled before I knew about the event, I was just last to know...I am the drummer, afterall[V]) and I was able to drive up there and experience this.

Here are a few pics from our set at "Foodstock 2009":
