That's OK.  I power my WP100 with a QSC power amp.  Sounds great due to the Eden front end!

Welcome back to the Garden!

No hate here at all.  Glad to hear you're enjoying your Navigator preamp.  That will give you your Eden sound no matter what power amp you use.

Hi guys, it's Mike from Somerset county in England checking in.  In case you're wondering, 'scrumpy' is the name given to the rough apple cider produced on farms around here in times gone by.  (Don't worry, I've managed to kick the habit now!)  Glad to see that there's a thriving online forum for these fine amps.  I've been using a neat little WTX264 for small stuff, love the sounds and decided to get more Eden stuff.  The latest generation amps seem to have a reputation for poor quality so I decided to get a used WT550 Traveler to back up my main Mesa D800.  Unfortunately the one I bought came with a fault and that's the main reason for registering here.  I'll post a separate topic but the problem is noise (somewhere between a loud hum and a buzz) as soon as I back off the volume pot on any of my basses (no noise at max or min settings).  Following tests, my repairer reckons it's not the tube itself but definitely in the pre stage.

Any help appreciated but for now, greetings to you all!
AMPS: Eden WTX264; Eden WT550 Traveler; Mesa D800.
CABS: Barefaced Super Compact Gen 3 (x2); Barefaced One10.
BASSES: Fender Rascal with custom body; Maruszczyk Elwood custom; Mensinger Cazpar custom; Gillett Contour S; Hohner The Jack.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Garden!

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with your WT550.  I read your other post about it and will reply under that thread.

Hi Mike and welcome to the Garden!

How did you get the impression that the newer series has a quality problem?
I am more than happy with my WTP. Build like a tank, Eden sound and many details they payed attention to.
Rock on!

Hi and thanks for the welcome!  It was the Terra Nova series I was looking at.  My recent quest has been to get the sound in my head from more compact/lightweight gear.  I've been pretty successful with my Mesa D800 head and Barefaced cabs and was hoping to get some classic Eden tones from the TN.  Scott Devine's video review was encouraging but didn't progress any further when I got reports of poor quality - my local store manager told me they returned their TN stock due to excessively noisy operation.  So I went for a used WT550 Traveler supposedly in "mint condition" and, guess what: lovely classic tones accompanied by so much background noise that it's un-giggable  :-[  Anyway, should have it back repaired from my amp tech any day now  :D

Hello from germany!

after a break about 15 years, i restarted playing bass 2 years ago.
i bought an EX112 Cab and WTX264 amp. The van was too loud for me for practicing, so i tried an TN501. the same.

Now i use a WT 330 and two D112XLT for practicing at home. The WT 330 makes no noise except to amplify the bass :-)
Its a little oversized but sounds great!

regards, Martin
