Hello Folks,

Although I'm no stick player I had to chime in on Greg Howard- he's actually an old aquaintance of mine.  We attended the University of Virginia together, and actually jammed a little bit when we were first year- back in 1983.  Boy did I suck back then!  We had to call it when me and my buddy Jeff (guitar) couldn't really play along with the drum machine Greg was running!  Greg of course was already quite an accomplished musician.  That was before Greg found the Stick, when he was a piano and alto saxaphone player.

I'm really glad to see Greg doing so well in the world of the Stick- you could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw his picture with Chapman announcing the new NS/Stick in Bass Player magazine!  Greg always impressed me with his musicianship on any instrument I ever saw him play, and I was introduced to the Stick watching him play down at Miller's here in Charlotteville.  I used to see him play with guitar wizard Tim Reynolds (who has played on some DMB albums and a pretty popular acoustic Dave Matthews duet- just him and Tim on acoustics) in a collaboration called "Sticks and Stones", man let me tell you that was some amazing music those two cats put together!  I'm real happy and even a bit proud (for no good reason!) to see both Greg and Tim have the success they deserve.
